Preview Night at the 2010 San Diego Comic Convention - July 21, 2010

It seems like the year is just flying by! Comic Con International just finished up its 42nd year this past weekend in downtown San Diego. Being a regular attendee every year for the past 10 years has really given me an interesting perspective of just how massive this convention has become. The sheer number of people that assimilate all of downtown San Diego for a week is incredible. Gone are the days of the quiet little, unknown comic book convention running out of the San Diego Concourse!

I've done a bit of updating to my site over the last few days. The new 'Limited Edition Series' page was added as well as the new 'Operator Series' page. Check them out HERE! I've also added some new crafting process pictures to the 'Method' page...you can check that out HERE!

I have a few more knives under construction that should be completed in the next couple weeks. Two of them are in the new Operator Series...one smaller, concealed carry version...and one larger...much larger ;~> After that I'll be getting ready for the 2010 Plaza Cutlery Custom Knife Show on October 2-3. If you're local to the area, I suggest you come down and check it out! You can get more show information at PlazaCutlery.com!

March 23, 2010:

Well the Knife Expo 2010 has come and gone...thanks to everyone who came out to support all of us knife makers! It's great to have a weekend to meet and make a personal, face to face connection with our customers! Thanks to Southern California Blades and the California Knifemaker's Guild for making this an awesome show! A big thanks to Kevin Kirby for helping me out through this whole thing!

The Summiter received the Presidents Award for its design and functionality! Thanks again to the show and the guild for the honor!

I've added a couple new knives to the 'For sale' gallery... You can check them out HERE!

March 4, 2010:

Well once again the Chinese have said they will not be giving out permits to traverse Mount Everest for the third year in a row! Traversing Everest means that we would be climbing up the North side in Tibet, and back down the South side in Nepal...so this is not the same type of permit as everyone who just climbs one side or the other. As our team have become the 'Kings of Fluidity', we have shifted our plans and focus for 2010 towards Alaska and traversing Denali (Mt. McKinley)...the highest peak in North America. The plus side is that I'll have an extra month or so to get knives made before setting out for the expedition! You can follow our adventures at our web site for the Denali Freestyle Expedition and on the SecretSpot7Summits Blog Spot.

I've added a new knife to the archive gallery...the Diablo. This knife was a joint design effort with Kain Guercci of Talon Executive...a prominent private security company. The knife is designed to offer a functional and ergonomically sound fighting knife to protect PSS operators and soldiers alike. You can check it out HERE!

For those local to the Southern California area, I encourage you to check out the Knife Expo 2010 at the Pasadena Convention Center March 19, 20, and 21. This will be my first show as an exhibitor! I'll be at table 132 for anyone interested in dropping by. I should have about 8-10 knives available for sale at the show provided I get everything done between now and then! Show hours are: Friday - noon-7pm, Saturday - 10am-6pm, and Sunday - 10am-4pm. I hope to see some of you there!

January 25, 2010:

Happy New Year to everyone...sorry it's been so long between site updates. 2010 is off and running to a great start already! Our Secret Spot 7 Summits Team is currently working to expand our media content and coverage while preparing for our hopeful traverse of Mount Everest in a few months. You can follow our adventures at SecretSpotEverest.com and on theSecretSpot7Summits Blog Spot.

I've added a few new knives to the Knife Archive over the last little bit. You can check them out HERE!

Just before getting on a plane to Nepal...I will likely have a table at the Knife Expo 2010 show in Pasadena on March 21-23. This will be my first show as an exhibitor! I'm hoping to have around 10 knives there ranging from small and basic to large and fancy. Maybe I'll see some of you there! I'll keep you posted as the time grows nearer.
