Tsuru Trout & Bird
WCB-030:
Tsuru Trout & Bird
My first production of a Damascus blade. These will be few and far between as I do not have the space or facility for a power-hammer, so any damascus I do is ALL hammered by hand...a VERY labor intensive process! This knife takes some of its design attributes from custom Japanese work knives. The blade is 1095 and 01 random pattern damascus. The 2 steels are both high-carbon, so the 'watering' effect is much more subtle than paring a high-carbon and a low-carbon steel, but the blade is also stronger because of it. The handle is Kingwood, accented by a blackened carbon-steel guard/ferrell. The sheath has an antiqued 'wood' finish with allagator print inlay and, as always, is hand-stitched and sealed for water-resistance.
