Summitter II (Prototype)

This is the final design for the Summitter knife that our team will be taking up Mount Everest and the rest of the Seven Summits! The blade takes on a shape similar to the Nepali Khukri, and excellent utility tool design. The handle is slightly oversized to accomodate both a bare or gloved hand comfortably and the thumb grooves are nice and large to provide grip for either a bare or gloved hand. The end of the handle extends and is tapered for use as a screw driver or a pry bar and I added a lanyard hole for added security.

This piece features a handle of beautiful cocobolo wood. A mustard finish was added to the blade for added resistance to rust and corrosion. The production model will likely feature a powder-coated blade instead of the mustard finish and have a micarta handle. The first 4 knives of this design will go to our Seven Summits team, but a special, commemorative version will be available to the public for purchase through our up-coming 'Secret Spot Store'!

You can follow our team's progress through our various web sites at SecretSpot.net or log on to our Seven Summits Blog Spot HERE!!
